The use of alcohol probably disqualifies this pair for anything more than an honorable mention, but the irony is too delicious!
In short, a man wrecked his car. He staggered back onto the highway and drunkenly tried to wave down a car to help. A good samaritan tried to stop, but, also under the influence, hit him. He later died of his injuries. The good samaritan has been charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter. And the identify of this samaritan? His wife!

1. Roland DeForest, 55, of Arkport, was listed in guarded condition in the University of Rochester Medical Center Thursday after his wife, Peggy Jo, 43, accidently struck him with a car, state police said. Both were charged with driving while intoxicated. (5/24/02)
2. The Town of Almond man who was struck by a car driven by his wife as he tried to flag down help after an accident in the Town of Burns Thursday morning has died in Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. (5/25/02)
