PHOTO CAPTION: Extreme fear of snakes: Hinesville firefighters inspect the ashes of Louvenia Simpson and Sara Gadson's home Thursday morning as smoke drifts from the debris. The fire was caused when Simpson tried to chase a snake out of the house by spraying gasoline. There's no report on the snake's fate.
STORY: An unconventional pest control method apparently sparked a house fire early Thursday morning.... Lovenia Simpson was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA to be treated for burns... According to Johanson, Simpson was trying to force a snake out of the house by spraying gasoline. The gasoline ignited the pilot of a hot water heater in the home... "I'm blown away," said Jessica Perry whose two aunts lived in the home after seeing the remains... Fifteen firefighters were needed to fight the fire.
