concerned neighbour

This incident happened some time ago, but I think it is worth submitting anyway as it exposes the very best of human stupidity.
The event took place in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, where a 55 years old Boris had a sneaking suspicion, that his friend who lived on the third floor of a five-storeyed building, is not well or even worse - dead. His concern was shared by other residents of the building who found it more than strange, that the third floor resident had not been seen for two or three days. Boriss, who's lack of common sense was compensated by his enterprising spirit, decided to go investigating. Using a CLOTHINGLINE (I suppose this is the word for the line one hangs one's laundry on)Boris decended from the balcony of the fourth floor in attemt to reach his friends balcony and clear the situation. Boris found out that the rumors of his friends death were highly exaggerated and that clothingline is not a device one can rely on while cliff-climbing. Elementary Watson, Sherlock Holmes would probably say, but Boriss had to find it out the hard way. While dangling between the fourth and third floor the clothingline snapped under 55 years old man's weight (as can be expected) and Boriss fell to his death.
During Boriss' daring attempt his "dead" friend from the third floor was having a nap in his apartment after late night arrival from his summer cabin.
