Men blow themselves 75 feet

I work in local media at a Comcast Cable in Manitowoc Wisconsin and over heard this gem while covering a local council meeting, while the two people didn't die, something like this probably won't happen here again.
On or around Memorial day 2002, two local men decided to burn down an old shed on the south side of town. Wanting to be thorough in their task, their choice to set the wooden shed alight was to pour about a gallon and a half of gasoline all over the floor shed, light a match, sit back and enjoy the fruit of their labors. They poured out the gas on the floor and stood by the entrance while one lit a match and threw it in. Instead of starting a nice toasty fire, the gasoline vapors in the shed ingnited in a giant explosion that set of car alarms and was heard for miles around. A neighbor close by, hearing the boom, instinctively looked out his window just in time to see the two men fly by. Police estimate the they were airborn for about 60 feet and slide for another 15, coming to rest in a nearby field. The roof of the shed, blown off, landed in a back yard about a quarter mile away, with debris from the rest of the shed scattered about.
Both men were badly burned, but will survive. For their near-life ending experiment, the men were cited for unlawful burning.
