Gun goes off in trousers, wounding Toledo man
A Toledo man who tried to break up an argument in a tavern parking lot yesterday was hurt seriously when a handgun in his trousers discharged, police said.
Corey O'Connor, 23, of 521 Earl St., was in serious condition last night in Medical College of Ohio Hospitals. A bullet passed through his scrotum and into his left thigh.
A woman told police Mr. O'Connor was trying to break up an argument she was having with her child's father about 2:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Ermie's Lounge, 1776 Arlington Ave. She told police Mr. O'Connor accidentally shot himself while trying to pull the gun out of his trousers.
