A Quicker Getaway?

A man apparently devised and attempted to carry out an ingenious plan to shoplift two fifths of liquor from a Grand Rapids supermarket (Meijer). Knowing he had to be quick, he ran out of the store with his stolen goods and dove head first through the drivers side window of his car. With his legs and part of his body still dangling out the window, he put the vehicle in drive and pressed the gas pedal... with his hand! Unable to see where he was going, he collided with a parked vehicle pinning his body between his car and the other vehicle. He later died at the hospital from injuries sustained in his "quick" getaway. Submitted on 05/16/2002
