the shortest way home ...

Unfortunately I can't prove that the story is true, but whole Cologne had a lot of fun with it. Anyway the guy survived, so he can't be nominated for a Darwin Award, but I think he was stupid enpugh for a honorable mention. The story took place in Cologne, Germany. He was on the way home after a nice evening and a lot of "Kölsch" which is the local beer. He lived near the Cologne zoo and he thought by himself, why walk around the zoo if there is a nice short cut... Nobody knows how he managed to climb the two walls, each at least three meters high first to enter the zoo, second to enter the tigers' cage. The tigers were very glad about the late visitor and thought the guy was a nice toy to play with, what they did. Luckily for the guy, they weren't hungry. I can't remember how he was saved, but he survived, but with severe injuries.
I tried to find evidence for the story in the local newspapers online archives, but the archives only reach back one or two years, but I would be very glad, if there was anybody else from Cologne who could confirm the story.Submitted on 05/12/2002
