From the Associated Press - Miami-
"A 38-year-old boater died on a canal after hitting is head on a concrete support under a bridge, officials said. Bruce Trumbore, of Oakland Park, died Saturday of blunt head trauma. The Broward Medical Examiner's Office ruled his death an accident. Also in the boat was Bradley Merchand, 35, of Fort Lauderdale. He was not injured. The boat was speeding through a no-wake zone just before midnight when the accident happened, witnesses told police. Police would not say who was driving the 15-foot Boston Whaler. After Trumbore hit the support, the boat veered to the side and rode up the embankment. It stopped with the bow lodged in a chain-link fence. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials are investigating."
