Twisting trouble in the whirlpool

2014 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance

***i know someone else submitted this but it doesn't do the story justice, please let me try as well, i think something like this deserves the best.

Meet Jacob Cockle, a surfer and famous whirlpool hunter.

Even as kids we learned water is not to be messed about and even a little bathtub and kitchen sink drain can create little whirlpool that are kinda powerful for there size right?

Now imagine you see a swirling whirlpool the size of a large wheel in the ocean or lake, what does your common sense tell you?

Jump in and film it ! Thats what Jacob did at least, he had luck cheating death with some small ones before so he tried again.

He saw this huge rotating hole in the water at Carnsew Pool jumped in at a safe distance took some pics and then approached the eye of the water to film it closer. It even wanted to put his horse head mask on to make it more funny but he was in for a ride alright. He was dragged under the water instantly, popping up a few seconds after and then going underwater for, good sucked by immense undertow of the spiraling vortex. He was thrown out on the other side after going trough a 12m sluice tunnel and then travel another 73 meter where they found him dead. Beside drowning he had serious trauma to his body caused by the huge force of fast water moving trough enclosed space.

Hes not the first one to die there as many more found there end at same spot, but for a "trained" person he should have known better.

As a short explanation, whirlpool usually form when large volumes of water as sucked by pipes or caves deep beneath the water, the force is huge and its not something to mess with. Carnsew Pool is extremely deadly, the large tidal waves and fast moving water combined with human made cave systems for sand drainage creates large and deadly whirlpools that claimed other lifes before even with the huge dont swim signs below.

Sorry, Raulus, but we have already received this one, and there's nothing to add to the story here. Thanks anyway, and submit again.
