"ATELETA - An entrepreneur from Ateleta, Gianfranco Di Benedetto, 36 years old, died by explosion of a tire. The man, married and father of two daughters, was operating a welding when, for causes still unknown, one of tire of the truck he was fixing exploded hitting him with full force. The hit has been so violent that Di Benedetto, hit on face, is dead instantly and when first aid arrived there was no more possibilities to save him. His wife realized the tragedy at 14.30 of yesterday; when she heard the burst from ground floor, she ran in the garage to find this dreadful scene. Neighbors were alerted from noise and accurred, but everything has been unuseful.(...) With all the confusion it was firstly not clear what had happened. Once dynamic of accident was clarified, investigation of police and from local healt agency were authorized. The new quickly spread in town where Di Benedetto, who lived in Ateleta and precisely in Scianco, was well known from everybody. He was a shy and reserved man, devoted to family and his job. He liked quods (a 4 wheel little motorized vehicles). This is the way his friends and neighbors remember him; he managed a little construction company in the sector of soil movimentation, Dig Service."

ATELETA. Resta ucciso dallo scoppio di uno pneumatico. Vittima un imprenditore di Ateleta, Gianfranco Di Benedetto, 36 anni. L’uomo, sposato e padre di due figlie, stava compiendo una saldatura quando, per cause ancora da accertare, è stato investito dallo scoppio di una delle gomme di un camion che stava riparando. La violenza è stata talmente forte che Di Benedetto, colpito in pieno volto, è morto praticamente sul colpo e quando i medici del 118 sono arrivati sul posto non c’era più nulla da fare. Ad accorgersi della tragedia, avvenuta intorno alle 14.30 di ieri, è stata la moglie che sentendo il forte rumore provenire dal piano terra, si è precipitata in garage trovandosi di fronte una scena tremenda. Un boato fortissimo che ha richiamato anche alcuni vicini precipitatisi sul posto per capire quanto stava avvenendo e prestare aiuto. Tutto però è stato inutile. Sul posto i carabinieri di Ateleta e Castel di Sangro, insieme ai vigili del fuoco. Nella concitazione del momento non appariva ben chiaro che cosa fosse realmente accaduto. Una volta ricostruita la dinamica, i cui dettagli dovranno essere definiti, sono stati compiuti i rilievi dai carabinieri e dalla Asl. La notizia di quanto avvenuto ha fatto rapidamente il giro del paese dove Di Benedetto, che abitava in una delle frazione di Ateleta e precisamente in località Scianco, a Carceri Alte, era conosciuto da tutti. Persona schiva e riservata, un grande lavoratore senza grilli per la testa, dedito alla famiglia e al lavoro. Amante dei quod. È così che lo ricordano in paese dove Di Benedetto era titolare di una piccola società che si occupa di movimento terra nel settore edile, la Dig Service.

Secondo quanto riferito dai carabinieri, la salma è stata riconsegnata ai familiari per il funerale che si svolgerà probamente domani. Intanto, tutta la comunità del paese si stringe intorno al dolore che ha colpito la famiglia. Di Benedetto infatti, lascia la moglie Filomena e due figlie che frequentano rispettivamente la scuola materna ed elementare di Ateleta. Tanti anche i messaggi di cordoglio, vicinanza alla famiglia e stupore per questa morte improvvisa sono stati lasciati anche sui social network ed in particolare su facebook. (c.s.)
