SUSPECT BURNED SEVERELY

Grambling man faces multiple charges

Leader News Service

A reported domestic disturbance ended with a mobile home fire in Grambling and a suspect suffering severe burns.

According to a news release from the Grambling Police Department, at approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday, the department responded to the 1500 block of MLK Drive in reference to a possible family disturbance.

However, upon arrival it was determined that Larry W. Brown, 50, had allegedly traveled to Ruston to confront his spouse who took shelter with a friend.

According to GPD, Brown was refused entry and asked to leave the property. He then reportedly became irate, drove his vehicle into another vehicle and rammed the home, causing major property damage.

Upon returning home, it appears the suspect drove his SUV into his mobile home and begun to ignite his spouse’s clothing. During this process, the fire got out of control and rapidly spread throughout the structure.

According to the news release, Brown fled the scene and arrived at the Northern Louisiana Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and burns covering 85 percent of his body. He was later transported to LSU Medical Center.

Grambling Fire Department spent several hours containing the fire, which resulted in a total loss.

Brown is facing multiple felony charges, including arson. GPD investigators are collaborating with Ruston Police Department in the ongoing investigation.

Definitely Toss: Not Amusing
Thanks, but even though nobody was physically harmed I just don't find cases of domestic violence all that amusing. The wife and the neighbor who protected her were probably both very afraid for their lives during this rampage.

I'm with Bruce. One is supposed to love one's spouse (and try and work through problems) rather than burn them...
