Customer has heart attack at the "Heart Attack restaurant" (yes, that is what it is really called).

i am afraid I must nominate this man for a Darwin award as he took the name of the restuarant and the food literally. He must have been dying of hunger!!! Shame I can't show you the pics of the restuarant, esp the burgers: single bypass burger, double bypass burger, triple bypass burger, Quadruple...and fries advertised as being fried in lard!!! This has got to be a Darwin award playground of the future. You would have to be braindead to eat this stuff. For this man, it was almost the playground of the present (and still may be)...read on.

A man has had a heart attack ... while eating at the Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas.

The man, in his 40s, was eating the 6000-calorie Triple Bypass Burger at the restaurant on Saturday when he started sweating, shaking and could barely talk, owner Jon Basso said.

"It was no joke," said Jon Basso, who calls himself "Doctor Jon", with his scantily-clad waitresses as nurses and customers as patients.

... the customer was eating a Triple Bypass Burger when he fell ill.

He said this was the first time - despite the name of the restaurant - that a customer had had a heart attack there.

"One of the nurses came back to me and said, 'Dr. Jon, we've got a patient who's in trouble'," he told the FOX5 television station.

The man was taken to hospital by paramedics, but his condition was not disclosed, the Associated Press reported.

Mr Basso said he felt "horrible" for the man, as tourists snapped photos of him while he was wheeled out of the restaurant on a stretcher.

"Even with our own morbid sense of humour, we would never pull a stunt like that," he said.

At the restaurant, eaters are given surgical gowns as they choose from a calorically extravagant menu offering "Bypass" burgers, "Flatliner" fries, buttermilk shakes and free meals to folks over 159 kilograms.

In March 2011, 260.8-kilogram, two-metre-tall Blair River, 29, who became well-known as the spokesman for the restaurant, died, possibly from contracting pneumonia after a bout of flu.

Thanks, but for all we know this guy could have had a preexisting condition and suffered his heart attack while walking down the street or eating at a salad bar. The fact that he suffered his heart attack while at a restaurant like this is merely coincidence and nothing more.
