The windows were rattling against the winds. The A.C was turned off and on. A loud piercing scream came out of the ground of the grave yard. A slimy green hand poked out of the soil and a hooded fish face was unveiled. The monster gets his scaly body out but his tail was stuck. “Gosh”, he cried, “I’m stuck. My tail is stuck”. He began playing tug of war with his tail and soon it was ripped out of the ground. “Drat”, he said, “I just lost my tail, Oh well at least I can buy another one from the mermaids”. He smiled and then raised his staff and gave a sinister laugh. The thunder roars and rains of blood filled the whole town. Each raindrop touches the floor, and monsters’ hands poked out. The monsters walked to the fish monster and bowed, “Long Live Lord Fishy”.

The fish gave another sinister smile and raised his staff again. “THOMP, THOMP, THOMP”, he mumbled in a low voice. As he spoke those words, five thorns poke out of the grounds. The thorns then changed into monsters, baby monsters.

The first thorn has changed into a Serpentia, a half human and half serpent monster. The second thorn has changed into a Honkey, a donkey with a beep as a mouth. The third thorn has changed into a Woorim, half worm and half lollipop. The forth horn has been transferred into a Vampire. The fifth thorn, is known as a Venshin, a beautiful girl who has Medusa’s eyes. “Greeting Lord Fishy”, they said bowing before the fish monster. “You’ve finally arrived”, he said looking at the new monsters.

The Serpentia sneezed and flicked her tongue out and tickled the Lord’s armpit. The other monsters then laughed. “Stop it Serpentia”, ordered the fish doing his wicked laugh. “Yuck”, said the snake monster, “You taste disgusting and you smelled bad. Next time please use deodorants. I’m allergic to your horrible smell”. “Okay”, sighed Lord Fishy, “Axe surely is the best”.

“Honk, Honk, Honk”, beeped the Honkey. “Stop honking Honkey”, growled the fish. “Honk, Honk, Honk, Honk, Honk”, beeped the Honkey again. “She said that you have pretty bat style in looking after your blood”, translated the vampire. “My what?” asked the fish. “Sorry”, said the vampire, “Vampire always says it that way. It means that you are very bad at looking after your skin”. “Scale! Whatever”, said the fish, “Venshin, do you have anything to say?” “No sire”, said the monster, “I have nothing to say”. “See”, laughed Lord Fishy as he pointed his fins to the other baby monsters, “You monsters are not better than my Venshin”. Then he looked at the Venshin. “Venshin”, he said, “You are more trustworthy than these other monsters. I wanted you to do a favor. A long time ago I have fought with a demigod and he took away my magic scale, cursing me to look like this”. The Venshin then gave a frown and then she replied, “Excuse me, Lord Fishy; I don’t even know what you look like. Have you forgotten that Venshin have Medusa’s eyes? If I looked into you then you’ll turn to stone and I’ll never get my new eye shadows”. “Oh yeah!” the evil monster replied, “I’m so stupid. How can I forget that? Whatever Venshin, he cursed me to look like a fish. You know what fish are? They are great and clever. They live in water. They are beautiful and handsome like me. They smell fishy too. They are absolutely me. You should know what fish are by now and talk about our plan. The demigod cursed me and then he took the magic scale and then he gave it to a girl he loved before he died. Her name is Faith. Go and searched for her and bring me back the scale. I shall reward you if you can bring it back”. “Eye shadows?” the Venshin asked taking her purple slippers and throwing it everywhere. “Okay”, agreed the monster, “Now go”. The Venshin then got up and closed her eyes and ran out of the grave yard. “I can’t wait for my new eye shadows Lord Fishy”, she called, “Hahahahaha…Ouch. Goof, I forgot to wear my shoes”. “Here you go Venshin”, said Walter the werewolf. “Thanks”, she said looking into him. The werewolf gave a howl and then he turned into stone. “Oops...” she said, “My mistake werewolf. Anyway thanks for the shoes”. “Venshin”, said Lord Fishy, “When you go and get my magic scale, be careful of Socheata and Molida. They are my worst enemy”. “Okay”, said the Venshin, “Oh by the way, Are Socheata and Molida boys or are they girls? If they are boys then I wanted them to become my boyfriends”. Lord Fishy rolls his eyes and then shouted the words, “THEY ARE GIRLS! WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? YOU WANT A BOYFRIEND HUH? IF YOU WANT A BOYFRIEND THEN I’M SURELY HAPPY TO ACCEPT YOU. NOW GO!” The Venshin smiled and then with her magic eyes glowing she disappeared. The other monsters, including Lord Fishy were shrunken back into the dirty soil. The Monster Hours has ended. It was finally morning for the A.S.D.

Chapter 2: Mercy I was still asleep in my bedroom when the Monster Hour faded, and I can hear foot steps thumping against the wooden floor of the house. I covered myself with my Tinker bell blanket as the doorknob was twisted. There was my friend Faith, wearing a pink stripy shirt and a pink short shouting like a hungry fluffy cat. Faith is chubby and friendly. She’s really interested in romantic books and she’s been to fifty dates. “SOCHEATA”, she screamed, “WAKE UP! MERCY IS COMING TO VISIT US!”

I pretended not to hear anything until I realized that my bed was flying off the ground. I turned around and faced Faith. She was using her physic power which her demigod boyfriend gave to her before he died. “Okay. I’m awake now”, I told her, “Drop me down”. When I said those words the bed came down and it broke into half. I got off the broken structure and took a shower. Then I got dressed in a Powerpuff T-shirt and shorts. I walked down into the kitchen with Faith for our morning breakfast. Molida was preparing breakfast today. She was wearing a pink and white apron over her blue T. Shirt and black jeans. “Good morning Sochea”, she greeted, “Good morning Faith”. “How’s breakfast?” I asked. “Good”, she said with a grin on her face, “It’s a surprise breakfast. Mercy is going to love it. There’s the A.S.D specials, carrot cake, barbeque chicken wings, dips, and there’s even-”. I interrupted the conversation and sniffed the air. I smelt something burning. “Molly”, I said, “Are you making smoke sausages?” Molly sniffed the air and then she ran to the oven. “MY GOOSH!” she screamed taking a black lump of something out of the oven, “MY PEPPERONI PIZZA”. I looked at the coaled round lump with round burnt pepperonis and cheese. Faith took a bite of it. “It’s good”, she said with her mouthful, “Nice and cheesy. The pepperonis crunch and the crust are not so bad”. “Thanks Faith”, said Molly looking happy again, “I hope Mercy like it as you do”. “It’s good that I don’t like pizza”, I joked, “I like vegetables dips better”. “SOCHEA!”

The doorbell began to ring and we ran to open the door. There was a two years old boy with black hair and dark skin standing in front of the steps. It was Mercy. Faith’s adopted brother. “Mercy”, she squealed hugging her brother, “I missed you”. The boy hugged his sister, and then he hugged Molida and me also. I didn’t know that he had strong tiny arms, so when he hugged me I felled down on the rug with Mercy. Mercy began to cry and the girls rushed to him and formed a storm on their foreheads. “SOCHEA”, they yelled, “WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO MERCY?” I explained how the hug was really an unexpected situation on the couch, and I ended up saying sorry in front of the little boy. “Forget it”, he said, “I’m Mercy. I am filled with kindness, forgiveness and understanding”. I don’t know whether he really mean it or not, but I think that I can accept it and also forgive him. Then Molly invited him in for breakfast and he told me a very bad news. He’s staying with us for one week.

Chapter 3: Venshin Attack “Grr...” said the Venshin wearing a sunglass and sitting in Hagar, “I want spaghetti, not parsley soup”. “Sorry your highness”, said the Hagar manager Justin Lantape. Then he called to the two cooks Lina and Elspeth, “Girls, Queen Venshin wants spaghetti, not parsley”. “We do not cook spaghetti today”, said Elspeth a blonde headed girl with thin white face. “And I didn’t bake the parsley”, said Lina a brown headed girl with freckles on her white, thin face. “Today”, said the two girls, “Our menu is special meatloaf with vinegar sauce”. “Yuck”, said the Venshin, “I want spaghetti and if you do not give me spaghetti, I’ll turn you to into statues”. The two girls then open their eyes really wide and squealed. Lina was the first one to speak, “Oh wait a minute Venshin, I need to go and get my new clothes”. Elspeth was tying her hair and brushing it neatly, and then she came back with a horse. Lina came back in a movie star clothes and then she did some styles. “Now Venshin”, said the two, “We are ready to fulfill our dreams. We are going to become famous because we are going to become famous statues”. Lina then spoke, “I’m going to be the most beautiful movie star and people won’t notice that I was a cook. I’m going to pretend that I’m going to have a huge house and a statue of myself. You, Venshin are going to turn us into statues”. Elspeth Nodded and then the two said, “Take off your glass because we wanted to become famous statues”. The Venshin grinned and then she took of her sunglasses. She looked at the two cooks, as they both turned into statues. “Now”, she said, “I need to find Faith”. “Faith?” asked Justin, “She’s with the A.S.D. I know their house”. The Venshin then did another wicked grin and then ordered the manager to show the way to Faith’s house.

While the Venshin and Justin were on the way to our house, Faith, Molly and Mercy were playing Life. “I spin at ten”, said Mercy walking his little blue car to career. “Now boy”, said Faith taking out career cards, “Choose one card carefully”. “I hope he doesn’t get the doctor”, said Molly pretending to bit her nails. The floor began to rotate and we all fell down with Mercy. “There has to be trouble”, I thought falling down the pipe. Soon we landed on a metal tiles room and the others bumped into soft cushion, but I did not expect this to happen. I bumped into the tile. Ouch. “Are you okay Sochea?” asked Molida. “Perhaps”, I groaned. A huge T.V screen appeared and there was a skinny teenager sitting on the president’s chair. “President Sothawin”, we all said. “Who is she?” asked Mercy. “Well, should we tell him?” asked Faith. “If he promise he wouldn’t tell”, I said. “I promise and cross my heart”, said the brother. “Okay Mercy”, said Faith with a sigh, “We are actually A.S.D. Asian Secret Detective”. “Wow”, said Mercy, “In Kindergarten Ville we learnt about you. Everybody in my streets loves you. We even made a club for the A.S.D. I’m so much a fan of A.S.D that I don’t know my sister is an Asian Secret Detective”. “Okay we get it”, I said to the boy, “You promise not to tell”. “Okay”, said Mercy, “Can I join?” I looked at him and then to the other two. They were looking at me. A look which tells me that they want to let Mercy in. “What?” I asked, “Stop looking at me. I’ll let him in, but only if we need help”. “Hooray”, said the girls. “A.S.D”, said Government Sothawin, “We have a mission to complete. There a Venshin in town and I don’t know what to do. They are looking for Faith. You need to save Hope Ville”. Then the screen flicked to a mess of the town and the Venshin, “A.S.D”, said the monster showing a picture of her and ten Students tied together, “Meet me in the monster hour in the grave yard. Hand over Faith or these ten innocent Students will die”. The screen then became blank. “

What? Me?” asked Faith quite shocking. “Faith”, said Molly, “I think that the Venshin knew that you have Antonio’s magic”. Mercy began to look at Faith and asked, “Whose Antonio? Do you have Magic?” Faith looked at her little brother and then her eyes were filled with tears. “Mercy”, I said pointing to the doorway tunnel which leads to my bedroom, “Take this way into my bedroom. Open the door and go to the kitchen. Help yourself with some chocolate pudding”. “Alright”, said the young child as he disappeared through the tunnel. I looked at Faith and she was crying hard. “Antonio”, she mumbled. I gave a sigh and then I held her up. “Cry all you want”. I look at Molly and I can see her eyes with a little tears. “Molly”, I said, “I need your help. Get the A.S.D Jet ready. We will be fighting a monster tonight”. “Get it”, said Molly, “I’ll also programmed a few more things”. I look at Faith. “Give me to the Venshin”, she ordered. “Don’t worry”, I said, “The Venshin will be dead. I promise that no monster will ever touch you”. Faith smiled. “Let’s get ready tonight”.

Chapter 4: The Match The Monster Hour had finally come and the A.S.D we had already prepared the purple A.S.D jet. Mercy is staying inside our house just in case we needed help. “Okay”, I said, “Are we ready?” “Ready!” said the girls. We got into the jet and I sat in the middle. “TAKE GOOD CARE OF THE HOUSE MERCY”, hollered Molida the jet driver. “MAKE SURE THAT THE HOUSE IS NEAT WHEN WE COME BACK”, I hollered. “SOCHEA”, said the girls. “Alright, alright”, I said, “Let’s fly”. Molly pushed a blue button and started the engines. Faith pushed a pink button and the wheels began rolling along the 7th Street. “Hey”, said a Korean girl poking her heads out, “Don’t you know its Grandma’s beauty sleep”. “Sorry Sarang”, we said. I quickly pushed the green button and blue flames burst out and off we flied through the air. I put on my microphone and began to speak, “Okay we should be arriving in the graveyard in twenty minute”.

Meanwhile traveling in our A.S.D jet, Lord Fishy and the other monsters were waiting. They had captured seven Students. “Let us go”, said one. “I’ll let you go when I have my magic scale Juho”, said Lord Fishy, “If you say another word I’ll let Venshin turn you into stone”. “Or my husband”, said Serpentia flicking her lips to touch the boy. “Ooh...” groaned Juho, “I wish the A.S.D is here”. “A.S.D!” shouted Jasmine. “A.S.D” shouted the rest. “What’s that?” asked Isiah. “A Hover Jet”, said Eden. “It’s the A.S.D jet”, said Seo yeon. “Cool”, said the three triplets. We got off the jet and then walked. I stared at the monster but then I looked at the fish monster. “Hey I know you”, I said squinting my eyes at Lord Fishy, “You’re the one who almost killed President Sothawin”. “Aagh...” said the monster, “I know you! Serpentia get rid of her”. “Ssss...” hissed the snakelike creature doing her kung fu. “I’ll handle her”, said Molida showing her kung fu. “Hiyiyah!” yelled the two. Serpentia attack Molida first and Molly fell to the ground. Then Molly punched the snake and Serpentia spat one of her fangs out. They began to pinch and fight and they were hurt badly. Soon as they both began attacking each other; Faith used her physic to control Serpentia and Molly kick the monster and made it fell to the ground. “Aagh!” screamed the terrifying monster, “I shall murder you Molida. I vow that I will. No one is going to have the best kung fu than I am”. Then the Serpentia disappeared. “Great Job Molly”, I said looking at the tired A.S.D. Then I looked at Lord Fishy and I yelled, “NOW FISH FRIES, I WILL HAVE TO KILL YOU”. The fish blinked at me three times and then sent the Honkey, but the animal just screamed and then ran away. “Grr...” he said, “Woorim”. “Oh yeah!” said the lollipop and worm monster, “Oh yeah”. Suddenly something flew across the sky. It was another jet, a pink one. The jet arrived next the A.S.D’s. Out came a puppy and a girl with short dyed hair. She wears a pink shirt with a sign saying 3470. “In the year of 3470”, said the girl, “Ha kyung to the rescue. I’m the one who protected animals and fight against monsters. My dog Super Doodle is a sign”. Then she got off the jet and pointed to Woorim, “You there. How dare you change Tropic Park to Woorim Park?” The monster looked at her and then he began to use his lollipop attack on Ha kyung, but Super Doodle licked the monster and sent him running away from the puppy. “Very good Super Doodle”, said the girl, “You can finish off this monster, and you can always fly back to Zee World anytime by...you know”. Then the girl and her jet disappeared. “There’s going to be more battle, Fish Fries”, I told the monster. The monster grinned and took out a rope behind his back that was connected to a cage made out of thorn.

He gave a sinister laugh and then he cut it. The cage landed on top of us.

We were trapped.

Chapter 5: Trapped “You’ll never get away with this”, I said banging the prickly cage. “Awesome”, said Lord Fishy, “Nice job Vampire, and Faith give me the magic scale and your physic power”. “NEVER”, she yelled. “Vampire”, ordered Lord Fishy, “If she refused again then you may have Molida’s neck for dinner”. “This is Fangtastic”, said the Vampire, “I can feel blood running down my veins”. “LET US OUT”, yelled Molly. Her hands were covered with blood. “There’s no use Molly”, said Faith sitting on the ground. “This cage is made up of people’s thorns”. “What is people’s thorn?” I asked sitting next to her. Faith looked at us and then she explained, “People’s thorns are thorn made from their feelings. When you feel sad or embarrassed, you feel like something sharp just hit you in the heart. That’s people’s thorns”. “So this is people’s hate?” said Molly. “That’s right”, said Faith, “Now let’s try and figure how to get out. I can’t use my teleport yet. The magic scale will only make Fishy gains more power. The only way out is probably to give Fishy what he wanted”. “No”, I said, “We promise you that Lord Fishy will never touch you, and Mercy will be very sad”. “Mercy?” asked Molly, “That’s it! Mercy can help us”. We looked at her and Faith stared at her really hard. “HE’S TOO YOUNG”.

After yelling at Molida we looked at the sky. It was turning rosy. It is nearly morning. “Have you decided yet?” asked Lord Fishy. “Ooh! Have decided to give Molida to me for breakfast?” asked the vampire licking her lips. We looked at each other and then I stood up. “Lord Fishy. Let Molida and Faith go. I’ll give my neck for both of them”. “No”, said Molida, “I’ll give mine”. “Molly”, I growled, “I don’t want you to die”. “Sochea”, she growled back, “You still need to live to solve more mysteries. You are the world’s best detective”. “Okay Vampire”, said Lord Fishy, “You can have both of their necks”. “NO”, yelled Faith standing up and separating us, “I’LL GIVE YOU MY NECK. I’LL GIVE YOU ALL MY MAGIC AND THE MAGIC SCALE”. “Good”, said Lord Fishy, “Vampire! Venshin! Freed the innocents Students and the two A.S.Ds, Take Faith to the Monster World and we’ll begin our ceremony in two months”. “YAY”, yelled the ten Students. “NO”, yelled Molida and I as the Vampire unlocked the cage and freed us. The Monster Hour had finished and the monster began to disappear. The thorn cage began to sink to the bottom with Faith. We tried to grab her, but the thorns were too prickly. “Take this”, said Faith handing us two glowing rainbow scales and a ring, “The Magic Scale. Lord Fishy may have got my magic but the Magic Scale is the key to his power. This ring will help you with an answer”. She smiled and then the dirt shrunk her till her neck was poked out. “Girls”, she mumbled kind of crying, “Take care of it. Forget about me. Tell Antonio I’ll be with him soon. Look after Mercy and I wanted you to know that you’re my best friends in the whole entire world. Thank you A.S.D”. Then she her head disappeared and no other words were spoken. Faith had reached the Monster World.

Chapter 6: the Oracle, New Weapons, and Mercy’s Fatigue “No”, I said falling on the ground. “No”, said Molly sobbing. The sun shown on our face and then dark clouds form on top of the graveyard. It began to rain in the fever. “Lost Forever”, I mumbled, “Faith is lost forever”. “Lost Forever”, said Molly lying next to me, “Two A.S.Ds is not enough”. I pictured all the time that I had with Faith and I began to cry. I pictured the time that Molly and I made a watermelon cake for Faith’s Birthday and it was burnt but she still thinks it’s good. I pictured the time that I got waked up by Faith every morning. I pictured how Faith showed up on our door with her boyfriends. I pictured the time that we started A.S.D and we how Faith moved from living with Lina to live with us. There are more memories that Molly and I missed Faith. “Molly”, I said to the girl, “Do you think that we should go and rescue her?”

Molly stared at me and then she sat up and spoke, “I wish that we could, but we don’t know magic. We don’t know where the Monster World is”. “You’re right”, I said thinking hard, “And Faith has magic. She got it from Antonio”. “Hey”, said Molly holding up the Magic Scale and ring, “Do you think this can help?” I brighten up, “It should work if only we know how to control it and what it does. There’s one person who should know how to make it work”. I put on the ring Faith gave me and then suddenly it glowed and a low, heavy voice spoke, “Your question is my answer”. We looked at the sky and there was a pretty priestess looking into a magic crystal ball. “Look Sochea”, said Molly pointing at the priestess, “I know who she is. She’s an oracle”. The oracle smiled and then she said again, “Your question is my answer. Ask me one question and I will answer it as a riddle Socheata”. I thought hard and then I got the answer, “How do we use this magic scale?” The oracle smiled and then she formed images inside her crystal ball. “The magic scale can only be used. Upon those who doesn’t have hooves. Just repeat this verse after me: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Purple, and Blue upon those who don’t have hooves. You magic is awaken, so won’t you wake up my Magic Scale”. Then as she ended the sentence the oracle disappeared into the ring. Let’s try it said Molly, “Red...Orange...Yellow...Green....Purple, and Blue upon those who don’t have hooves. Your magic is awaken, so won’t you wake up my Magic Scale”. The magic scale jumped from both our hands and then it formed and changed into two lovely weapons. There was a magic sword and a golden trident.

“Pick one”, I said to Molly. Molly picked the golden trident which gave me one last choice of picking the sword. We rode back to A.S.D on the A.S.D jet. Mercy was at the door with a puppy in his arms. “Look”, he said, “Puppy”. Then he looked at me and Molly, “Where’s Faith?” I looked at the boy and lead him inside. We told him the adventure and how we lost Faith.

“You’re lying”, he said grinning and crying, “Faith is just playing hide and seek with me”. Then he opened the door and searched all over the garden.

He bent his knees on Faith’s favorite daffodils bed and yelled her name. “FAITH!” He cried and the next thing we knew is that he fainted. He fainted for the rest of the hour.

Chapter 7: Lord Fishy’s Birthday Faith waited for the rest of the hour to spend time with Antonio. She was replaced in a physic cage above the larva of the Monster World.

The Monster World is nothing but a peninsula surrounded by larva from the volcano. Lord Fishy sat his throne guarded by the Venshin and Vampire and then he looked at the girl stuck in the larva. “It’s only two more days that I will gain my power back”, said the fish. “I will soon meet Antonio”, said Faith. “It’s only two more days that I will have a teeth”, said the Vampire. “Explanation”, said Lord Fish tapping on the Vampire’s hand. The Vampire groaned and then said, “It’s only two more days that I will have a treat”. “Humph!” said Faith folding her hands, “You fish are not better than me”. “YES I AM”, said Lord Fishy, “I SIT ON A THROWN”. “That’s no thrown”, said Faith looking at a white short thrown with a hallow ground in it, “That’s a potty”. “A potty is a thrown”, said the fish, “It’s more special for an olden day king. You can poop in it also”. Faith made a face and then she pretended to vomits.

“Lord Fishy”, said the Venshin, “Do you remember what day it is today?” “Nope”, said Lord Fishy. “It’s your birthday sire”, said the Vampire. “Oh yeah!” said the fish, “Where are my presents? Cakes? Guests?” Then suddenly a group of monster surrounds the peninsula and they sang a birthday song to Lord Fishy.

“Thank you everyone”, he said, “Now where’s my present?” The Venshin came first with her present. It was the statue of Lina and Elspeth and Justin kissing the horse. Lord Fishy gave a scream of excitement and he ran to Lina’s statue. “What a pretty girl she is”, said the fish monster. He gave the statue a kiss on the cheek. “Let’s hold a wedding for us two tomorrow darling”, he said. The group of monsters began to cheer. Then he looked at Elspeth and Justin’s statue. “Throw them away”, he commanded. Then the vampire grabbed it and pushed it into the bubbling larva. Then he took Lina’s statue into his room, and pointed at Faith. “Faith you will end up like them when the day came. I will have the magic and scale. Vampire will end you off and throw you into this fire”. He gave a sinister laugh and disappears. “Oh A.S.D”, she said kind of worried, “Come and rescue me”.

Chapter 8: Ringing Phone For the rest of the morning, my bed wasn’t fixed. Normally Faith would crash me down, and then she would use her physic power to join them back. I looked at the strew wood. I really missed waking up by Faith.

I walked into Faith’s room. It was bright hot pink. Mercy was lying on her bed since he fainted. I sat next to him on the super hot colored bed. I looked at her room and I can see lots of photos of her dates. Every single photos frame was alike except for two. One is a picture of Antonio and her at Mc. Donald, and one is a picture of her and a blonde headed boy name Ryan.

Ryan’s pictured had whiskered on his face. Meow!

I looked at the frame pictured of Ryan. Faith often told me stories about her boyfriends. She told me that she would agree with any boys’ date, except for Ryan’s. She refused him, so he told her that one day he will impressed her and she would have to agree to go on a date with him. “Funny Guy eh...” I giggled. Then Faith’s Iphone rang and I picked it up. “Hello?” I said. “Hey Girl. Want to go on a date with me?” said the voice. “This is A.S.D 1 talking to you”, I replied. “Oh sorry”, said the voice again, “I thought it was Faith. Aren’t you Socheata?”

“Yes!” “Good to meet you. I’m Ryan”.

“It’s nice to know you also, Ryan”. “Where’s Faith? I wanted to ask her for a date since she refused last time”. “You like her?” “Yep, but she doesn’t notice me”. “Why?” “After Antonio appears...” “Antonio isn’t bad”. “He took my favorite girl”. “Continue”. “You know that Faith is the prettiest girl in the whole entire city. Every boy is in love with her in a second when they saw her walking down or saying ‘Hi’. They bring her roses and things like that, and then they would beg her to go on a date with him”. “Okay...” “I was in loved with her the moment I saw her walking down the road. A car almost bumped her and I ran to rescue her. Then when I grabbed her I saw her more beautiful than any other girls I have seen. Suddenly Antonio grabbed me and pulled me away from her. That’s how I first got in loved with her and hated Antonio”.

I was amazed by that wonderful story that I can write it and published it on Facebook. I began picturing the entire story. Then I gave him another chat. “Ryan”, I said. “Are you still in love with Faith?”

“Yes” “Well...” I said, “She’s kidnapped”. “WHAT! SHE’S KIDNAPPED!” Then I heard something slamming on the ground and Ryan didn’t say anything. “Ryan?” I asked. “Sorry”, said the voice kind of groaning, “I think that I just fainted”. “Are you okay?” “Perhaps. Who’s she kidnapped by?” I made a face and then said, “An evil fish monster called Lord Fish”. “A MONSTER CALLED LORD FISHY!” Then I heard something slamming on the ground again.

For the rest of the time I told him the entire story of what happened yesterday, and he was sort of blaming me. I didn’t know that the mobile phone has only four cents left and so when I tried to tell him that I didn’t do it, the phone got disconnected.

“Man!” I said, “Faith is surely right not to choose a selfish boyfriend like this”. My phone suddenly rang and I picked it up. “Hello. This is Socheata speaking”. “It’s Ryan”, said the speaker. “How on earth did you know my telephone numbers?” “The Yellow Pages. My mom owns those kinds of things”. “Oh”, I said picturing the boy’s mother being yellow. “So you let Lord Fishy kidnapped Faith”. “I JUST TOLD YOU A WHILE AGO. HOW COME YOU’RE SO ANNOYING?” “Okay...Okay...I get it”, said the boy, “Tell me where the Monster World is. I want to save Faith and ask her for a date again”.

I pictured Ryan trying to save Faith from a breathing dragon and then he got burnt to crisps by the dragon and he set of running away.

“Are you brave enough?” I asked. “Not quite. I usually fainted or pees on my pant before putting my life in jeopardy”. “Toh!” I thought, “That boy isn’t brave enough. Faith is right not to choose him”. Then I thought of playing a joke on the boy. “So Ryan. Are you sure you wanted to go to the Monster World?” “Just tell me where it is”. “Meet me at the graveyard tonight”. “GRAVEYARD!” Then I heard something splashing on the ground. “Are you peeing on your pants?” I asked. “Duh!” he said kind of shaking. I gave a sigh and then I closed the phone. I can tell that he’s going to come tonight with no way to getting back to life.

Chapter 9: The Rescue and Slaps “Sorry that I’m late for breakfast”, I told Molly as I came out of the secret A.S.D Library. I sat on the kitchen chair and stared at the dinner I had. “Fried Zucchini?” I asked looking at the fried green vegetables on my plate. “That’s all we have”, said Molly taking a bite of the bitter vegetables, “Eat it Socheat”. I pushed my plate away and helped myself with my homemade carrot omelet. “I wish Faith was here”, I mumbled licking my lips; “Today she would be making us the Eiffel Tower Meal”. Molly nodded her head as she thinks about the tower of carbanara and strawberry sundaes with little chocolate chips and burnt pecan topping. I ate my egg and I shared the other half with Molida. “Are you ready?” I asked, “Midnight rescue”. “Duh”, said Molly wiping her lips. “I already asked Lucia to baby-sit Mercy”, I told her,” We need to go now”. “We can’t take the A.S.D jet”, Molly said, “It needs Faith”. “I think I know how”, I said, “We have to walk”.

Then as we started to open the door, we heard something booming. It was thunder. “Oh No Molly”, I told her; “Instead of walking we have to RUN”. We ran as fast as we can till the thunder boomed three times faster than we can actually walk. One thunder almost hit me and I backed off as fast as I can. “MOLLY THIS IS NOT A GOOD WEATHER”, I yelled, “WE ARE IN A THUNDER STORM”. “’CAN’T HEAR YOU!” she yelled running behind me. The wind blew harder as we kept on running for our goal. One lightning knocked down a tree and it casted me and Molida to separate.

“MOLLY!” I screamed, “I’LL GET YOU OUT OF THERE”. I climbed on the log and reached my hands for her hands. She grabbed it and we climbed down. “Thank you”, she said. “No time for thanking me”, I told her, “We’re near the graveyard”.

We continuing running and soon we arrived at the graveyard wet and soggy.

I climbed the fence and I can see fighting going on with one French boy fighting with Lord Fishy and another boy dying next to his feet. “That must Ryan”, I said to Molly, “I knew that would happen”. Then I looked at the other monsters. They were injured badly. “Give me Lina”, he said, “She’s my girlfriend”. Lord Fishy took out a big book which has a title ‘PRE FRENCH BEGINNER’ and he flicked through every page of the book till he finds all the words the boy said. “Non”, he answered which means he disagrees. Then the French boy took out a gun and as he shoot it at Lord Fishy. The aim missed at the fishy monster, but it make Lord Fishy fainted. “Now”, he said, “It’s finally the end of you”.

Then he looked at the statue of Lina in her wedding dress. He cleared his throat and repeated a special spell. ‘Wake up statues, the vile are gone’. As he spoke those words, I can see the dark brown statue becoming more peach and colorful. Lina smiled at the boy and she spoke some words, “Denmark? Did you free me from this spell?” “Yep”, answered the boy smiling at her. Then Lina slapped the boy on the face as hard as she could. “This”, she said, “Is for having a new girlfriend”. Molida and I gasped as she slapped the boy. “But-” said Denmark. Then Lina slapped him again, “This is for making me work as a cook”. “Sorry”, said the boy. Lina gave him a harder slap, “This is for making me turn back to human. If I was a statue then nobody would have known that I used to be a cook”. “I would know that you were a cook”, said Denmark. Then Lina gave him the hardest slap in the whole wide world, “This is for not buying me makeup, shoes, and beautiful fashions”. Then she stomped away with the boy slapping into the middle of the storm.

“Wow”, I said without blinking my eyes, “Lina is sure somebody”. I looked at Molida. Her eyes were widened and her mouth dropped down like her jaw was made out of tin. “Okay. They’re gone. Let’s go and hunt for Faith”, I said. We dropped down from the fence and we walked to Lord Fishy. “Hey Fish fries”, I said stepping on his tail. “OUCH!!!” screamed the monster, “DO NOT STEP ON MY TOE”. I gave a look at the monster and frowned, “You don’t have toes”. The fish monster turned pink and giggled, “Oops...wrong part. I don’t have toes, but I do have a tail”. “Take us to Faith”, said Molida taking out her special shooting glove. “Please not that thing”, said the monster kneeling down, “I’ll die if you shoot me”. We gave a sigh and then we answered, “WE KNOW”. Molida lowered the glove next to him, and he begged us not to shoot him. “I’ll show you the way to the underworld”, he begged, “All we need is morning”. “Promise” I asked. “Cross my heart”, said the fish.

Then we waited till morning came.

Chapter 10: Lord Fishy’s Phony plan Morning finally came. We tied a rope on Lord Fishy’s tail to our arms. The dirt quickly shrunk Fishy into the ground, followed by us. We feel much squeezed. Traveling to the Monster World is like traveling through a time machine. We opened our eyes and we saw that we’re standing on the peninsula. “We’re here”, said the fish.

We untied our arms and Fishy’s tail. He led us to where he had hidden Faith. “Here”, said Fishy pointing to the girl’s bathroom, “You need to go through one of the toilet bowl. Flush it and then we’ll meet over in my special room”. “ARE YOU CRAZY?” asked Molly, “WHAT TYPE OF IDIOT INVENTED THIS THING?” “Me”, said Fishy, “I remember how I my mother named me Fishy. She said I smell fishy and so that’s why I go through toilet bowls, to smell fishy of course”. “Oh”, we said. Fishy went through the boys’ bathroom and we walked into the girls’ bathroom. “This bathroom stinks”, I told Molida, “Smells Fishy”. The bathroom is filled with cobwebs and spiders crawling through the whole thing. There are twenty three toilet bowls. “Now”, said Molly, “The fish has gone stupid. One, I don’t like to smell bad. Two, I don’t want to go through toilet bowls. Three, How are we going to know which one to go through?” I looked at her, “The fish has been stupid along time. You just know? One, we can always go back and take a bath. Two, we’re doing this for Faith. Three, the fish said that we need to go through the toilet bowl. He might mean something else. Let’s just do it for Faith”. “I’m not going to”, said Molly. “Okay”, I told her, “I’ll try first, and if nothing happens then you surely need to follow me”. Molly groaned in disappointment and then she agreed. “Okay”, I said looking at the dirty bowl, “I’ll figure out a way”. I flushed one of them. Nothing happens. Molida flushed the next. Nothing happens. We kept on flushing it till we reached the last and when Molly flushed it a secret passage way opened and dropped her into a slippery tunnel. “HELP SOCHEAT”, she screamed. I jumped into the tunnel. It was very dark. “MOLLY”, I yelled, “WHERE ARE YOU?” Molly didn’t say a word. I yelled again but still she didn’t reply. Soon I can see light. It was getting closer and closer. It was also getting hotter. “Uh oh”, I thought, “Must be the larva”. I yelled when I saw the thing but then something caught me. I looked at it. It was a rope. Molida saved me by using her glove. “Thanks”, I said, “That is very useful”. I looked around and I can see a special metal door. “Lord Fishy must be inside”, I said, “I also think that Faith is in there also”. We opened the door and as I was suspected Lord Fishy was inside. He grinned and then pointed to a ball of physic surrounded by larva. I looked closer at it. There was Faith inside sitting. “FAITH”, I yelled, “WE’RE HERE TO SAVE YOU”. Faith looked at us and I can see a huge smile on her face, “SOCHEAT, MOLLY, and I MISS YOU GUYS”. “WE’LL GET YOU OUT OF THERE”, yelled Molly. “Let her go”, I commanded the Fish. This time he grinned and did a sinister laugh, “Let her go, let her go. I won’t let her go”. The fish took his magic staff and shot us with a lightening bolt. “Okay. I will let her go. I will let her go into the larva”, he pointed the staff at the globe and it was lowered. “STOP THIS FISHY”, I yelled, “I’LL GIVE YOU THE MAGIC SCALE FOR FAITH”. The fish smiled and then poked his fins out, “Okay, we’ll make a trade”. “DON’T SOCHEAT. THIS IS HIS PHONY PLAN”. “Sorry Faith”, I said. I gave the Magic Scale to Fishy. He gave a huge sinister laugh and transferred the magic scales to powder and covered himself with it. A light came out of his body and he was transferred into human. “Thank you Socheata”, he grinned, “I have gain more power. I shall destroy Hope Ville and I shall let Faith meet Antonio”. He raised his staff and put me and Molida in a globe and he destroyed the physic globe and dropped Faith closing her eyes in fatigue into the larva. “NO”, Molly and I yelled. “STOP THIS LORD FISHY”, yelled a familiar voice, “LET FAITH AND HER FRIENDS GO”. We looked at the metal door. It was turning pink and melted. As the door melted a familiar person lit up. It was a tall brown headed boy with armors and a shield. There was also a griffin next to him. “It can’t be”, said Fishy as he widen his eyes, “Tell me this is not real”. Molly and I widen our eyes in disbelief. The boy jumped into the larva and saved Faith to the surface of the peninsula. Faith opened her eyes and she gasped. Her eyes looked at the boy and he smiled at her. “Antonio?”

Chapter 11: The story of Antonio The boy just kept on staring at her. “That’s right Faith”, he said. Faith gave another gasp. I can see tears at the end of her eyes. “How can you stay alive?” she asked, “I thought you were dead”. “I’ll tell you later when A.S.Ds are out of the globe”, said Antonio. He put his hands toward the globe and the thing popped letting us out. “Thanks Anto”, we said. We walked to Faith. “Hey girl, Are you alright?” asked Molida. “You should be”, I said giggling. I lowered a little closer to her ears, “You should be okay, because Antonio saved you”. “Oh shut up Socheat”, she growled at me. “How did you stay alive Antonio?” asked Molida. “Well...” he said, “I thought that I was really dying when the Emo king shot me in the heart with the power of the Emo’s Emerald. Then I can hear something calling me. I never did find out who said it but the voice kept on speaking and it waked me up. I opened my eyes and I can see that I was lying on a bed. I sat up and there was a bowl of lemon grass medicine mixed with berries. The door opened and a strawberry roan headed girl walked in. Her name was Hannah. She was a nurse. I told her all about you, and what’ve been through. She worked all day and night just to get us together. Soon the pain was healed and I began searching for you. I began walking for years to Hope Ville and I met this griffin on the way. He was betrayed by Sir Georgia. I fought the evil man and I rode on the griffin to Hope Ville. I am sure that most of the people knew me because I was your boyfriend. I started flying down to your house. I rang the doorbell three times, but there were still no answers. I broke through the door, and all I can see was a sad little boy sitting on the couch and watching T.V”. “That’s must be Mercy”, said Molly, “He’s awake”. Antonio nodded and continues the story, “I thought first that you were supposed to be babysitting him, and then when I asked him questions, he told me that he was your brother Faith. I told him that my name was Antonio and it seems that you told him about me already”. Faith nodded her head, “I will never forget you”. “Then I asked Mercy where you went and he told me that you were kidnapped by Lord Fishy. I don’t know where the Monster World is, but lucky that you have the same power as me. I used Teleport In One to transfer me to the same place that you are”. “Is that the reason why Faith can’t use her teleport?” I asked. “That’s right”, he said. Then he smiled at Faith, “I won’t let you teleport away from me”. Faith smiled at him and said, “Neither do I let you teleport away from me”. “Let’s get back to the story”, said Molly. “You already know it”, said Antonio, “It’s what happening now”.

“Not so quick”, said a voice. Antonio turned around and a lightening bolt was about to hit him. “No”, said Faith. She jumped in front of him and the bolt hit her on the chest. “No”, said Antonio. He ran to grab the girl. She didn’t move. “Faith”, said Molly and I running to her. “Don’t die Faith”, said Antonio, “I won’t let you”. Faith still didn’t move. “Faith”, we said quietly. “Take care of her”, said Antonio. He lifted her gently and he stared at Lord Fishy. He raised his hands and created a globe around us. “Never leave this globe”, he said, “This is for protection”. He stepped out and with his psychic power he created a sword. He let go of it and pointed toward Lord Fishy. “No”, said Fishy running away, “Not this again”. The sword chased after the monster and it went right through the monster’s belly and exploded. Lord Fishy gave a terrible scream and he was popped like a bubble. All remained from him was a little fish. It jumped into the toilet bowl and then swam around it. Antonio turned around and he held Faith close to his arms. He turned the griffin into a car and he turned his armors and shield into a T shirt and pants. “Let’s get Faith to the Hospital”.

Chapter 12: Romance, Hospital Version We took Faith to the hospital by nighttime. The nurses were yelling at each other for the doctor. The doctor came and they took her into the operation room. Antonio was so worried that he yelled over the whole building. Molida tried to calm him down but it didn’t work as well as I thought. “Antonio calm down”, she said, “Faith will be alright”. “I can’t”, he said, “If she dies, then I will die beside her”. I ran to him and pushed him to the floor, “Don’t say these words. Faith won’t die”. Four minute later, a nurse came out running fast. “Wait”, said Antonio “Is she alright?” The nurse didn’t listen and she kept on running. Then a man in a green robe and mask came out of the room. “Doctor”, said Antonio, “Is Faith alright?” The doctor took off his mask and hesitates, “We don’t know yet Antonio. It seems as if she gets a really big hit by something. If she doesn’t wake up by tomorrow she will never see Hope Ville again”. Then a cart rolled out of the room. Lying on it was Faith. “Faith”, we said running after the cart. The cart finally stopped at Room 205.They placed Faith upon the patient’s bed and they stormed out. The doctor walked inside kind of hopeless, “Faith need to stay here for one night. Is it okay if one of you stays with her? Just in case she was awaken”. “I’ll stay”, I volunteered. “No I’ll stay”, said Molly.

“No I”. “No I”.

“Stop”, said Antonio, “I’ll stay”. “What?” we said. “I’ll stay. Faith took this pain instead of me. I also need time to talk to her privately. Also you need to look after Mercy. There’s no one home”. “Okay”, I said. “Take care”, said Molly. Then we walked out of the room leaving Faith on the bed and Antonio sitting on the sofa beside her.

Antonio looked at the sleeping girl. He began to touch her face and eyes.

“Faith”, he said, “You are the prettiest girl I’ve ever met. Remember how we first me? I was playing hide and seek with Thopeo. I went down to Earth and I landed in Hope Ville. I decided to hide in the history book. I really didn’t know that it was yours, until you picked it up. I can see your beautiful face when you open the cover. Then I can see Thopeo walking next to you and grabbing your hands. I can’t believe that he was my enemy. He asked you to be his girlfriend. I can’t hold on seeing you being Thopeo”. He smiled at Faith but she still didn’t wake up. “So I get out of my hiding place and hit Thopeo. That’s how we never did become friends again. That’s how you knew me”. Then he smiled again, “And that’s how we started our love”.

Then he bent over to kiss Faith on the lips. He backed off and then he lied on the sofa. There was no more voice of the nurses, doctors, and patients. They all went home or they have fallen asleep. Antonio sigh and he began to talk more, “I remember how you get dressed me, and how you taught me about being on Earth. I remembered how you introduce me to Socheata and Molida. I remembered how I first joined the A.S.D. I remembered what we did on our first date”. Then he closed his eyes, “I also remembered how hard it is being without you. Please wake up tomorrow Faith”. Then he went to sleep without noticing Faith’s fingers moving.

The sun finally rose. It is now morning. Antonio was still sleeping. He can fill lots of hope in his heart for Faith. The sun shone through the window upon his eyes. He woke up and looked at the bed. Faith was missing. “Oh no”, he said, “FAITH”. He looked around the room and he ran out of Room 205. “Good Morning Sir”, said a nurse. “Have you seen her?” he asked. “Who?” asked the nurse. Then Antonio kept on running. “FAITH, WHERE ARE YOU?”

He ran through the garden and different rooms. He searched every place in the hospital. Finally he returned back to Room 205 hopelessly. He opened the door and looked inside. There was a girl smiling sweetly at him. It was Faith. Antonio smiled and then he laughed. He ran to the bed and hugged her. “Faith”, he said, “I was so worried about you”. Faith grinned and then she looked at him, “Silly demigod. I won’t be away from my protector. There are thousands of boys trying to get me, but the only person I love is you”. Then Antonio hugged her even more. “Don’t hug me too much. I can’t breath”. He let go of her and then he pretended to be mad. “Where did you go?”

Faith made a face and pointed at him, “Toh! Does that mean I can’t go to the bathroom?” Antonio stood up and pointed at her, “If you want to go to the bathroom, then you should at least tell me. I’m your protector. No boys can go near you”. Faith stood up and faced him, “Excuse me. When I’m at the A.S.D you never seem to care”. Antonio frowned, “I do care...Sometimes”. “Why do you have to care?” asked Faith. “Because...because...” said Antonio. He gave a big breath and then let it out, “Because I loved you”. Faith smiled and her face turned red, “I love you too”. Their heads leaned closer next to each other and there lips touch each other.

The doorknob slowly opened. Molida, Mercy and I entered inside. We gasped as we saw the two kissing each other. Antonio and Faith looked at us quite surprised. “Sorry”, we said trying to turn the doorknob back. “Wait”, said Faith, “Mercy, come here. I really missed you”. Then her little brother ran to hug her as if they had been separated from each other for fifty years.

We smiled at the lovely view of meeting again. We tried to turn the doorknob but it was stuck. Antonio had used his physic power to close it. “Don’t go”, he whispered, “I your help”. “Mercy”, I said, “You want to go out with me?” “Sure”, said the boy. We walked out of the room. Antonio walked over to Faith. “Faith”, he said, “I’ve been thinking about this”. “What?’ she asked folding her arms. “Will you go on a second date with me?” asked Antonio, “Let Molida be the proof”. Faith stared at him as if she was about to cry. “Yes”, she said. “Yes”. “God bless you”, said Molida. Then Faith pointed at Molida, “Don’t let Mercy and Socheata knows about this”. “We already did”, I said walking inside again with Mercy. “Hey this isn’t fair”, she said. “I can’t believe this is real”, said Mercy. “It’s a happy ending for you guys”, I told them. “Antonio I disagree’, said Faith kind of grouchy. “Don’t”, I said, “Faith”. Then Faith laughed, “It was just a joke”. We all laughed. “Oh yeah Faith”, I said, “You owe me twelve dollar. You didn’t fix my bed”. “I’ll fix it”, said Antonio. “None of your business”, I said. “SOCHEAT”, they all yell including Mercy. “What”, I said, “What did I do?” “Oh yes you did”, said Faith as if she was about to punch me. Then she hugged me, “You just saved me and make us happy”. Then all of us laughed and I feel bright and shiny. Guess what people! A.S.D is the best. It stands for Asian Secret Defender from now onward.
