Charles Darwin with a purple swarm around his head, contemplating the twist of fate that natural selection sidestepped these still-living honorable mentions.

2014 Honorable Mention

Next Prev Random Honorable Mentions have misadventures that stop short of the ultimate sacrifice. Nevertheless we salute the spirit of their colossal blunders with an Honorable Mention. Better luck next time!

Marshmallow Mouth
2014 Honorable Mention
Confirmed True by Darwin

(June 2014, Florida) Tour guide Lance Lacrosse is either incredibly smart or incredibly dumb depending on whether one values money or safety uppermost. Smart at making $$$ by behaving in a manner so sensational that videos go viral. Dumb at surviving due to his habit of feeding alligators marshmallows that he holds between his teeth. Swimming with alligators is a good way to get attention and helps this tour guide make a living, but that living won't last long if he doesn't change his ways. An Honorable Mention to Lacrosse for actions so risky that even a five year old child knows they're dumb. As a warning to others, Lacrosse is serving well.

Authorities are reviewing the videos to determine if laws are being broken. Why, yes, at least two laws are being broken -- the natural laws of common sense and survival.
